Jewellery Care.

The best thing to do is contact the original maker for specific cleaning and care requirements of your jewellery. Below are a couple of suggestions.

Gold Jewellery.

The best thing to do is to try and seek out the original maker of the jewellery. Each item of jewellery, depending on what gemstones are used, will have different care needs, and I will discuss this with you as part of the process when you are purchasing from me.

When storing your pieces of jewellery, do so separately so they do not scratch.

Sterling Silver (925)

Sterling silver will naturally oxidize over time being exposed in the air. If you would prefer this not to occur, I have provided a small plastic bag you can seal your piece of jewellery in, or you can buy acid free tissue paper, this will also slow down the process. I have also supplied a soft polishing cloth you can use.

Oxidized Sterling Silver (925)

Oxidizing is a chemical treatment that I have added to some of my sterling silver (925) chains. The technique leaves a charcoal colour on the metal. Over time some of the oxidizing will wear away, when it rubs against other surfaces and this adds a different quality overtime.

Keeping the oxidized piece away from perfume, removed before swimming and showering will extend the treatments integrity.

DO NOT use a silver polishing cloth for cleaning or put your piece of oxidized jewellery in any chemical silver dip as this will remove the finish. If for some reason you need to clean your jewellery just do so with a damp cloth.
